Settlement of the Provinces of Kumaon and Garhwal

An 1816 Foreign Department record on establishing a revenue settlement for the provinces of Kumaon and Garhwal. Addressed to Major-General Sir David Ochterlony, it discusses assessments, customs, official salaries, returning inhabitants, cultivation and the need for moderate and equitable administration after the Anglo-Nepalese War.
