Folk Religion in the Central Himalayas (Kumaon and Garhwal)

A 2017 study by Shikha Panwar of local religious beliefs and practices in Kumaon and Garhwal. It examines oral traditions, regional deities, nature and spirit worship, jagar traditions, Nanda Devi, and the assimilation of local cults into mainstream Brahmanical religion across the Central Himalayas.
